Climate Mobilization Act Series: Solar & Green Roofs
October 1, 2019
New York City Council has passed the Climate Mobilization Act (CMA) – a groundbreaking package of bills designed to dramatically improve the carbon footprint of buildings across New York City. With the support of the Natural Resources Defense Council, and in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and the NYC Retrofit Accelerator, the Building Energy Exchange is holding a series of programs designed to demystify the components of the CMA and connect our community with relevant solutions. This, the fourth event in the series, will focus on Local Laws 92 & 94, which mandate the installation of Solar PV systems or green roof systems on all new buildings, expansions or structural roof alterations.
The Solar PV and Green Roof mandate is among the first of its kind in the country and applies to all new buildings, all expansions of existing buildings, and any project that involves alteration of roof structures. The event will feature an overview of the bills’ requirements as well as discussions of the major application challenges of these two systems from industry leaders.
Join the Building Energy Exchange, and the Mayor’s Office in this discussion of the Solar & Green Roof mandate within the Climate Mobilization Act.
